HomeKit Accessory adding to wrong home

I have a Meross garage door opener that had been working fine via HomeKit and it’s native app for a few years until it became unreachable in Home, but not in its native app.

i did a hard reset and reinstall, but each time I try this it adds itself to my other home.

I can’t see how to change what home it adds to, or how to move it between homes once installed.

any pointers gratefully received!
