Locating lost AirPods using Find My app

I recently lost my airpod case and one of my AirPods. I was listening to music when I lost it and on my find my it says it’s at my home but I think it says that because when I last used it , it was at my house. What can I do to try and find my AirPods? I have an idea of where it might be but I would like to know if my find my app is telling me the location of my AirPod that I recently connected my phone to or it’s my actual air pod.
