Car Play and Siri not functioning properly

When phone hooked up to Apple Car Play in my 2024 Honda Ridgeline, recently it has been malfunctioning. You can ask Siri a question or ask for directions and Siri will say “Sorry, something’s wrong”. Then it will say “there is nothing to repeat”. I have rebooted my phone and it will work for a bit, I have rebooted the infotainment system and it will work for a bit, I have completely went back to factory settings including have phone forget car play etc and it will work for a bit, but everything I have tried is only a temporary fix. Nothing seems to work. Not sure if it is a Honda infotainment issue or an Apple issue. My phone has no issues with Siri at all when not synced with Car Play. Any ideas?

I'm having the same issue - just got a new 2026 Honda CRV today and Siri starts to read messages and cuts off. IOS version 18.6.1. Same issue on 2 phones.

Per my dealership, this is a known issue that Honda is working on with Apple. I was told they will contact me when Honda has a firmware update for the car to fix it.

They provided a workaround - if I use the steering wheel button and ask Siri to read my latest message, it will read the entire message.

I have a 2026 Honda CRV , 3 days old. It starts to reads messages and then cuts off. Same if I try to send a message. It will say “ what do you want to s………” and cuts off. I am iOS 18.5. Honda thinks it is an ios18.5 issue. I have tried resetting the connection, resetting iPhone network settings and resetting the infotainment system to factory settings. Hopefully Apple has a software update to fix this.
