Dictating with Apple Notes Not Working with Voice Control on MacOS

Greets:

Apple Notes is somehow not behaving as expected when I attempt to dictate with my voice.

On macOS Sonoma, the latest version, I can enable Voice Control via just my voice. Also, when it's enabled, I note that it can type words out, even when I'm unaware. I've seen it on Safari's address bar, and I've seen it with Messages, so I know it works.

So I opened Apple Notes, created a new note, and then attempt to dictate as a test. The cursor is blinking, and Notes is in focus, but otherwise it is not responding....that is, typing....to whatever I say.

I know the mic works, because again, I'm able to put Voice Control on standby or wake it up. (There is a sound prompt that alerts me.)

I'm not sure what I'm missing, so welcome any assistance to get this sorted.

Thank you!
