Do you have any of the following types of third party apps installed?

  • Antivirus
  • Cleaning
  • VPN
  • Security
  • Maintenance

If your answer is "yes" please advise what is installed and please be as specific as possible.

Also, it would be wise to do the following:

My brand new [2025] M4 MacBook Air cannot discover my Amazon Alexa [4th Gen] Echo Dot. I've tried everything. It is not even discovered in Nearby Devices. Yes, I have my Alexa Echo Dot in "set-up mode" with the orange ring light illuminated and it still does not show up.

Ultimately wanting to play Apple Music playlists [both from my library and Apple's library] through my Echo Dot while sitting in the same room on my MacBook Air just a few feet away from my Echo Dot; I got nothing.

I've enabled many apps in the Bluetooth Privacy settings; including Apple Music, still not discovering my Echo Dot.

I've looked in Sound preferences for sound output settings; no echo dot there either.

Everything on the Amazon Alexa site says I should be able to use my Echo Dot as a Bluetooth speaker to play Apple Music [Yes, I'm subscribed]. But nope, no luck.

Suggestions?
