all ipad notes have been WIPED after syncing with icloud

this is absolutely ridiculous. all i wanted was to have the notes from my ipad and iphone to be combined on both devices. i had HUNDREDS of notes on my ipad full for work, and now i’m finding out they center recovered? absolutely absurd that this has been a problem for YEARS and there’s still no solution. i’m more than upset with apple right now. i literally PAID for extra storage to sync my devices and everything was deleted. not to mention that i was DOUBLE CHARGED for this extra storage. was supposed to pay $9.99+tax and was charged $19.04. SO MAD

If your notes were on your iPad and not syncing with iCloud, it's likely they were stored locally rather than in iCloud. When iCloud Notes is enabled later, local notes don't automatically move to the cloud unless you manually transfer them. This often causes confusion, and unfortunately, can result in data loss if not handled carefully.

First, check your iPad's Notes app and look for a folder labeled “On My iPad.” Your missing notes might still be there. Also, scroll down to check Recently Deleted, in case anything was removed during the sync process. You can also log into iCloud.com and check if any of your notes made it into the cloud.

For the double charge, go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions and verify your iCloud+ plan. If you're seeing duplicate charges, visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund. Apple usually resolves billing issues quickly when reported.

If the notes are truly gone, check if your iPad had an iCloud or iTunes backup created before the sync. You might be able to restore that backup to recover the notes. You can also reach out to Apple Support for help—they may have additional recovery options based on your account activity.
