Apple Watch is not tracking VO2 data when running without my iPhone

Of late, and I can’t say exactly when, my Apple Watch Series 10 stopped capturing VO2 data when I go out for a run (using the run workout) with just the watch. When I bring my phone along with me, in addition to the watch, it does capture the data. It seems everything else about the workouts syncs correctly, but this baffles me. Any ideas?

The default Outdoor Run will copy the data to the Health App on the iPhone, and the Health App will give you the estimate for VO2max.

This works on my Apple Watch, as soon as the data has been synced from the watch to the iPhone, and your workout also shows up in the Fitness App on the iPhone.

Did you already try to force restart your iPhone and Apple Watch?

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

To force restart your watch, press and hold the Digital Crown and the Side button together for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again.

This is my issue. When I run solely with the watch, it syncs the workout data to the phone, including the health app, when I return home to the phone. But the VO2 data is no longer appearing as it had been. That data now only appears in the health app if I do the workout with both my watch and my phone with me during the run. I’ve tried restarting, resyncing the fitness calibration of the watch and nothing seems to work.
