Just switched from an ultra 22, disappointed with the lie of notification "mirror"
So right to the point, I'm type 1 diabetic. I have 2 devices Dexcom 7 and omnipod 5. Each have apps for iphone. The only reason I switched to iphone is there is a new insulin pump coming out soon that is only cleared for iphone.
I also got a series 10 watch and are using direct link.
My notifications are set wide open for the two apps and work just fine when the phone is unlocked. When locked the alerts are sent to my watch. This is not sufficient due to the low volume of the watch. When you are asleep you need that volume to wake you up. This is dangerous
This is not "mirror" this is a binary choice when the phone is locked. I have my notifications setup for all 3 delivery methods, critical is turned on as should be.
I'm also very disappointed that I cannot set a ringtone for a contact for text messages on the watch.
Before anyone says, take the watch off when sleeping...not even a consideration as I want to monitor my sleep too. I mean I paid 500 US for it, I'm gonna use it. I tried wrist detection off but then the sleep stuff doesn't work. And don't get me started on the blood oxygen being disabled and then therefore sleep apena detection as well.
I have to say that Android stuff (specifically samsung) is way ahead of iphone/watch in so many ways.
So what are my options here? It seems this has been an issue for over a year. Some say it is intended, but the word mirror implies that both devices behave the same.
