I am about to beat my mac fare and square in this chess game and it will not allow me to move my queen to H5. I just get the mac beep indicating that I can't move there. I have checked and I can make other moves. But it won't let me move there. My king is not in check.

It does not appear you are playing against the computer as there are no variants of gameplay that the computer would give up 2 pawns out of the gate on moves 3 and 4. I replayed the moves using Human vs Human and it still allows my Queen to move to H5, so not sure what the difference is. I am on Mac OS 15.5, but frankly the Chess game has not changed at all in many years.
Here is the move with the Queen to H5:
I just ran a test of 20 games with my initial move being e2-e4 and the only Computer move that was made was either e7-e6 or e7-e5. There were no other variations. It is strange that the computer matched your move with a move from h7-h6.
I don't have any explanation for it. Obviously there is some randomness in game play, just never seen one where the computer would give up the 2 pawns so easily in the first 4 moves, then not let you move your Queen to that location.
Hey, I know what you mean about the game not changing and the computer playing dumb moves, but I'm playing the computer, which you can see in this expanded screenshot.
