How to snip on macbook air m4 with editing features?

New to Mac. What is the best way to snip on Mac? I am using FS Capture on Windows 10. This amazing windows app is able to take all kinds of screenshots and most importantly, it can edit the image immediately after screenshot, such as adding edges, shapes and texts.

How can I do this on a Mac?

Command-Shift-3 for the whole screen,

Command-Shift-4 to drag a selection to capture

Command-Shift-5 for options.

As markwmsn wrote, if you activate the "Show floating thumbnail", you can click that and immediately edit.

As an alternative, you can set images to "Save to" Preview, which results in each screenshot automatically open in the Preview application, ready to make any adjustments or annotations you may want. This is how I use it, but markwmsn solution is also great.
