For several weeks now I have been unable to open Mail. If I click on it, it just sits there with the black dot underneath it. I've tried: opening Mail from Applications folder - doesn't work; restarting in safe mode; reinstalling the OS; I've run Malwarebytes. Mail remains frozen and unresponsive.

I got rid of Clean My Mac. Then I re-installed the OS. Mail still won't open. I also tried a clickable email address to see if a message would open. Nope, nothing. :-(

Wondering if "Clean My Mac" has "cleaned" away necessary files (or system files) affecting Mail app?

No I didn't ever have another monitor. That's a good idea, I'll try that after dinner.

Have you tried the regular account in Safe Mods?
Yes it opened in a separate new account. I set it up for my mail, and it arrived. But I need the other mail account to get my receipts for my tax return.
