My child on Family Sharing is unable to download apps

I have just set up my 6 year old as a family member, with new apple account.

There are some apps, like Bbc iplayer, that are not available to download on her device for her. I’ve tried to look at the Content Privacy settings but nothing is working.

Is it because of her age? I was able to download on my 9 year olds devise. If it’s her age, how can I change this?

Any other advice welcomed.

What happens when she tries to download them exactly? Does it issue an age or restriction warning? some other error? If so, what does it say?

If there were an age restriction, a message to that effect would pop up when trying to download it.

You can verify this in Settings ➜ Screen Time ➜ Content & Privacy Restrictions ➜ App Store, Media, Web & Games ➜ Apps and verify what age range is setup there.

Otherwise, you'll need to explain exactly what happens when she tries to download an app like BBC iplayer.

It just said the app is restricted for download on this device. I ended up finding an Apple article which explained that it was to do with age of child and their Apple account. Iv had to change her date of birth to a 9plus child on the account in order to overcome this issue.

No. Age of the Apple Account will not do anything to let you download apps if restrictions are in place.

It's entirely unrelated.
