Apple Mail Rules for multiple rules but only linked to one account

When you create rules in Apple Mail, they apply across all accounts by default, not just a single one. That’s why emails from your other accounts are being filtered by the rules you intended only for your main account.

Unfortunately, Mail doesn’t let you directly assign a rule to a specific account. But, you can work around it by adding a condition in each rule that checks the account it came from, or was sent to. Something like “Account is [Your Main Account]” at the top of each rule.

It does. The problem is the lack of allowed conditionals. There's only one, with the option being any or all. You can duplicate the rules, so if you set the initial one up, just duplicate it and update the name of the rule and the from.

This way you can set the account or email to, contains, and from. Then when you duplicate the rule, just update the from.

Still would have to have duplicate rules.

If the account, like what was suggested, was added to what was displayed, it could move all emails to that account (or accounts) into the Tech folder. Because all it's doing is seeing if it matched one of the criteria. So there would be emails that, I'm assuming, wouldn't want to be moved into that folder.

Of course! Now, I haven’t tested or tried creating this, but, what you might be able to do is setup a Shortcut.

I think you’d want to setup an Automation first, then proceed with setting up the Shortcut, which is where you could add in some of the additional logic.

100% agree. It’d be nice if they enhanced the rules for more conditionals.
