Getting iCloud files back on my MacBook Pro
Apple moved all my files to iCloud. Nice for backup, but I am often without internet. How do I get files back on my MacBook Pro?

I'm not sure what you mean by this. How did Apple do this? Are your files in iCloud Drive? You shouldn't depend on iCloud as a full backup.
Are your files in iCloud Drive, which is a folder on your Mac. Do you have Optimize Storage turned on?
