Connecting Apple Watch Series 6 to iPhone XS with outdated iOS version

Hi

i am having trouble connecting my apple watch series 6 with my iphone xs. I could use it before but now they are asking to update the watch to use it. My iphone ios version us 17.7 i cannot

update to the latest one because i dont have enough space and enough money to upgrade to a newer phone.

my watch os is 9.2

what should i do please tell me? I cannot use my watch with this phone, please help

me to downgrade or connect it
