Can’t open files shared with myself between Notes and Reminders

I want to use Notes and Reminders as my project management apps and while I can share a Note to a Reminder, I can’t always open the Note. Most times it tells me: The owner stopped sharing, or you don’t have permission to open it.

Why does it work sometimes and not others?
