Why doesn't my MacBook Pro (M1) automatically detect my external monitor after waking up?

The external monitor (Dell SS3222HN) works well with my MacBook Pro (M1). However, after waking up the laptop the external monitor doesn't display automatically. It requires me unplugging the monitor cable and plugging back in for the desktop to display on the external monitor. This is suboptimal.

The USB monitor cable is plugged into a (MOKiN) USB C hub.

I am expecting the external monitor to automatically display after waking up the laptop.

the Dell S3222HN appears to be a 1920 by 1080 display at 8 bits/color and

interfaces

HDMI

As such, far better results can be obtained by plugging it directly into your M1 Mac's DIRECT HDMI port.

When connected through a Dock, there may be a delay in recognizing the display.

Your should be using certified PREMIUM or ULTRA rated HDMI cables.
