What to do when CarPlay keeps suggesting old places?

Hi.

I recently moved to a new house.

I noticed, when I opened Maps in Carplay, it automatically suggest to drive to my old house.

I already changed my address in my contact page, and I found out you could delete the significant locations history to reset it and stop suggesting irrelevant information.

However, when I try to delete it, it seems to work in the first place (I had around 250 records from the past 3 months and after deletion, the recap is showing 0 records), but after a while, if I go back, it manages to find old records again from the last 3 months, like nothing happened.

And it keeps suggesting the same drive to my old place.

How to fix it for good ?

Thanks

Even after deleting Significant Locations, the system might pull that data back from iCloud if the change hasn’t fully synced, or if another device hasn’t cleared it too.

Also, Maps suggestions aren’t only based on Significant Locations, they can come from Siri, to name a few:

  • recent searches
  • calendar events
  • emails.

To really reset it, you might need to clear location history on all your Apple devices.

It is worth checking what Siri is using to make suggestions, if it is. Even if you’ve updated your contact card and deleted location history, Siri can still rely on patterns it’s learned over time, like where you usually go at certain hours.

You can go into Settings > Siri & Search > Siri Suggestions and look at what’s enabled for Maps and other relevant apps.
