While Ventura may no longer be supported by Apple and many third party developers, your existing apps will continue to function (especially the offline ones or components). The apps which have online components are the ones which will break sooner or later once those online services change. Filevault does protect your data in the event someone else gets physical access to your computer. Plus it makes it much easier to prepare it for sale or recycling since a simple erase will destroy the Filevault encryption key.

Are you saying TM backup up both the OS and user account ?

Tte way I have understood this.

One needs to install the OS first and then restore the User Account ?

I wonder if instead of it booting twice you just are seeing it shift gears about halfway throng where it no longer uses the simple GPU drivers & shifts to using the fancier User GPU drivers?
