Will turning off iCloud Photos affect my backup?

Hi, I currently have my iCloud photos turned on but I don't have enough storage for them to be synced up to date. If I turn my iCloud photos off I would have enough storage to back up my phone. Are my photos included in that back up? Would they be included if I make a back up of my phone on my macbook? If not what options do I have to save my photos other than paying more to upgrade my iCloud plan?

Thank you!

We really need more information.

  • Do you have more than 10% free storage on your Mac?
  • Do you have more than 10% free storage on your iPhone?
  • Do you have more than 10% free storage on your iCloud account?
  • Do you see all your pictures in Photos at iCloud.com?
  • Do you see all your pictures in Photos on your Mac?
  • Do you use Optimize Storage on your phone?

Having too little storage on the device or at iCloud can make even deleting things difficult. Sometimes, the best thing is to pay a couple of bucks for one month's extra storage at iCloud, resolve your storage issues, and then go back to the cheaper level.

Having more information can help us…
