Chrome Remote Desktop installation errors on iMac running macOS 13.7.6

I have a 2017 imac running Ventura 13.76. Chrome Remote Desktop was my staple for accessing my desktop while on the road. However, every time I have had to restart the computer, it stops running and I have to go through the process of reinstallation with is working only sometimes. However, I keep getting stuck at the second install of the procedure outlined in this post: Chrome Remote Desktop failed installation… - Apple Community, with the following screen:

I never get the option of "Open anyway" in the Privacy and Security settings in System Settings on the second install of the current version of CRD. And CRD continues to give me this message:

It seems really buggy and I'm not sure what to do. Any help with this?
