How can I see uploaded songs in iTunes Match on iPad touch 5th gen?

I got an iTunes Match subscription because I needed iCloud Music Library on my iPod Touch 5g as it only has 16gb of storage. I thought it would work because Apple’s website states it’s supported on “iOS 5 and later” so it should work fine on 8.1. I could enable it from settings and even though the music app shows “loading itunes match” (for only half a second) it only shows purchased music and no uploaded songs. Has anyone else experience this? How can I fix it?
