Iphone 16 battery draining much faster after ios 18.5 update

My iPhone 16 battery is draining super fast after the ios 18.5 update .

Earlier my battery used to last for almost 22-23 hours after a 90% charge...now since the last 6-7 days..my battery lasts for 13-14 hours only. No idea why it's happening.

There is an overheating issue as well..but that happens when I have used multiple apps running at one time in background or while using it for a longer than usual time frame.

Any tips on how to get my battery not drain fast in ios 18.5.

Post a screenshot of Settings > Battery, that shows your green battery graph and the top 5 apps consuming the battery. The option you want selected is for the view of the last 24 hours.

It can take a week after an update to index files in the background and also analyze your photo library for object detection algorithms. The actual time it takes depends on the size of your photo library.

If you are Force Closing apps in the App Switcher, it will take more battery the next time you launch them. Once they are in the background, the app is paused from running. The apps that contain background processes and identified in the list of apps at the above battery setting will run those processes/notifications whether the app is running or not.

The measure of battery health deterioration/drainage is subjective and can vary depending on individual usage patterns. There is no universal standard to determine whether the battery health deterioration/drainage is normal or abnormal because it heavily relies on how the battery is used and maintained.
