Apple TV crashes on Imac after Monterrey update

Apple TV works fine on my TV, iphone and ipad - but after Monterrey update on my iMac the app crashes after 30 seconds no matter what I try to play.

I've seen on the community that others have had the same issue but the suggested fixes look quite complicated - has an easy fix been worked out?
