CarPlay disappeared from car and phone

Car play is no longer on my car system and when I look at the connection in my iPhone, there is no longer the toggle switch to allow CarPlay...the switch is gone. I can get the phone to connect wirelessly to the car, but no CarPlay. What can I do? I have checked that siri is active.
