Calendar event clipping instead of forming two columns

In my calendar I have three events. Two start at the same time with one ending before the other. The third event starts at this time. The first two events appear in the two column organization that is nice and readable. The third event doesn’t follow suit and slaps itself right on top. It’s not a huge deal, but it makes my OCD cogs turn. How to I force it to choose the two column format? I’ll attach a picture below.
