why won't my .html file open in safari or chrome?

I have tried google/chrome and safari. It just hangs up on "loading" I can get the file into my download file on my Mac but it won't open.

MacBook Air 15″, macOS 15.2

Consider the possibility of an error in your website code.

Did you try opening it with Safari?

Perhaps your code relies on a source you haven't got (perhaps a javascript or alike)?

Update to macOS 15.5, and try again.

I did a complete shut down and reboot and it worked but I don't know what caused the problem.
