What is the best account type to use for a small senior community?

Prevent System Settings, Prevent installing or deleting apps.

If you enable the Guest user, then residents of the community may use the Mac with the limitations you noted and no personal info will persist after each Guest logs out.


Change Guest User settings on Mac - Apple Support (IS)


You do not want to create user accounts for each user, just enable the Guest account. In addition to needing knowledgable staff to manage a Mac with multiple user accounts and the attendant potential issues, each user account that you create will require a certain amount of drive space.
