I’m concerned if my safari is hacked

To start things off, I was randomly logged out of my reddit and walmart accounts on the app. Walmart said it was probably due to maintenance. I haven’t contacted reddit. But i was checking my account activity and it says it was logged into via safari 2 days ago, which i don’t remember doing. I’m almost positive i didn’t log into my reddit account from safari. So i’m worried. But one thing is that the current ip address it says i’m on in the screenshot is the same one it say i was on when the log in on safari occurred 2 days ago. But i’m not sure if these ip addresses are unique to me or if it says other people use these ip addresses too because it changes to like 6 different ones.

Yes, in the absence of additional information IP addresses themselves are not very useful.

The excerpt from the screenshot you posted is not accurate. It states in part "... location information is guessed from your computer's IP address..." which is not correct. Your Mac's IP address cannot be determined from beyond its local network — the network created by your router, or more accurately stated your ISP's router. If you have reason to believe someone is using your own personal network without your authorization, the solution is to secure that network. This goes beyond the scope of your original concern. Safari is not "hacked" but other vulnerabilities may exist and need to be addressed separately.

Safari cannot be "hacked" any more than any other app on an iPhone. If you suspect someone else used your login credentials for Reddit, Wal-Mart, or any other service that uses a login name and password the correct action to take is to change those login passwords for those respective services, websites, or apps.

Safari can generate secure passwords, synchronize them using iCloud Keychain, and automatically provide them when logging into websites requiring login credentials.

i’m pretty sure my WiFi network isn’t hacked, if it was i don’t think the bad actor would use it to log into my reddit and do absolutely nothing with it lol. what would you say about it if my wifi wasn’t hacked in any way?

I think you are correct and have ruled out the bad actor theory altogether. That means it was either you who accessed Reddit via Safari or someone that has physical access to your phone and knows the Passcode to unlock it and access your passwords. Don't forget, it just takes tapping a reddit link and it can open in Safari.

The one thing you can rule out is someone having remote access to your phone and was able to use your Safari app to go to Reddit and use your Password to login that requires the Passcode/FaceID on your device, and do absolutely nothing with it.

If it is possible that your Reddit account may have been compromised and someone knows that password, then change the password to your Reddit account. If it is possible someone knows the Passcode to your phone, then change the Passcode to your phone to prevent anyone from being able to access it.

That’s the thing, nobody has used my phone or knows my phone password, i change it every week and it’s not written down anywhere

Then you are very well protected. I suspect you tapped a link/search result that opened the reddit page in Safari. You may be able to dig through your Safari History and look for a site below the reddit page that was opened. With Safari opened, it is the book icon at the bottom, then choosing the icon that looks like a clock. In some cases, you will not see all the data there, so don't be concerned if you don't find it, but if found could provide an explanation for you. Also don't be concerned if you see sites that you did not visit as some sites include redirects that open without you navigating to them.

When you choose the Hide My Email address to sign into Reddit, it is just a user name for that Reddit account. You will get an email verification sent to that email address that was created, and Apple will forward the email to your actual Apple Account. Anyone that has that user name (Hide My Email address) and password you created for it will be able to log into your account on Reddit. They do not need to have any access to your Apple Account and the Hide My Email address cannot be used to access your Apple Account.

As always make sure you do not use the same password with different accounts.
