I upgraded the hdd since the old one failed I used an I flash solo adapter and after syncing music it restarted then a red X showed on the screen when I entered diagnostics mode it said error can’t open device because of diag halt I entered disk mode it shows a red X and can’t enter disk mode the new battery is installed and the tools that I ordered from Amazon fell apart

Your iPod can not recognise your new hardware you built in, you'll have to visit an 3rd party iPod repair shop to get it serviced.
I want to do self repair but I have the plastic tools I got the I flash solo from Amazon the new battery is detected
Did you check the support pages of the manufacturer of the flash drive for troubleshooting?
