How can I stop iTunes and Audible files from skipping on iPhone?

My iTunes music files and Audible audio files are skipping. How can I fix this? I have tried rebooting and reinstalling apps with no success. The skipping occurs when playing straight from the phone as well as direct connected and Bluetooth. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max.
