macbook pro m1 chip not turning on, completely unresponsive

I bought my 2021 MacBook Pro 14" with the M1 pro chip back in May of 2022. It worked perfectly, never had an issue with it until yesterday, screen is completely back, no tap back response from the touch pad, it won't even respond to the Mag safe charger (which doesn't even light up at all). Completely out of the blue, I made an appointment with the genius bar, but I want to know what the issue could possibly be, I've tried everything and don't know what else I can do

If the magsafe charger or cable has failed, or the DC-in board— the battery could simply be dead.

Try an alternative charging USBC cord for a couple hours and see if it comes to life...(?)

Your best bet will be going to the Genius Bar to get your problem diagnosed. I don't know if you've read through this support article already but this may help If your Mac doesn't turn on - Apple Support.

Your issue could be a variety of things from an old battery to issues with the software, there isn't much knowing until you get it looked at by the Genius Bar pro's. They will take great care of you and will help you with your problem.

Hope I could help and good luck with your computer🤞

I have tried charging it through a usb-c cord and nothing. Less than 24 before noticing it wasn't working, the MacBook had a full charge, and there have been times I could go weeks without charging it, I have looked at the apple support links about this topic but none of them have helped. I am a broke college student who can't afford to spend another $2k on a laptop. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience or even just a hypothesis on what could have gone wrong and how much a repair would be. I feel very helpless without my macbook.

I have a 2021 16-inch M1 Pro Model : A2425 and I  am experiencing the exact same problem. I used my computer normally yesterday. This computer has always stayed at home, never exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, moisture, or any other harsh conditions. However, when I tried to turn it on this morning, it was completely unresponsive.

I plugged in the MagSafe charger, but there was no light. The computer remains entirely unresponsive. This is outrageous, especially since the device has never been dropped or mishandled. It has always stayed in my office. Unfortunately, it’s now out of warranty.

If this isn’t an isolated issue, Apple needs to take this seriously, investigate the matter, and resolve these hardware-related problems.

The advice above is good for you as well.

  • read the article about powering on/not

  • make an appointment at the Genius bar of an Apple-owned store for a FREE evaluation.

Be polite and professional. If a simple repair can be performed that does not consume PARTS, there will be no cost to you.

if your computer needs more extensive repairs, you can get a FIRM (no unexpected over-runs) Quote for the repair.
