The word 'Messages' no longer displays on my Apple Watch Series 6 face

I no longer have the word “messages” on my Apple Watch 6 face which would tell me how many I read messages I had, no matter what I choose or I choose I cannot work out how to get it back, having a small message icon doesn’t tell me anything and I have to tap on it to see if I have any unread messages - help?

Yes, Apple changed some options for the Photos watch face as well in watchOS 11 as well.

However, you can let Apple know directly about your wishes by using the Feedback link, Apple does not follow these user to user communities.

Which Watch face did you use on your Series 6?

Is the complication still available in watchOS 11, if yes, did you try to reinstall it?

Thanks for your response, it seems I can no longer get the word message on the photo watch under OS 11.5.
