The volume slider for Apple Music does not show dB so

how can I determine if it slides in increments of 1 dB or .5 dB?

I would like to reduce it for PCM playback to an Airplay (1) receiver and want to lower the software volume (on Mac/iOS) to ensure that no intersample clipping occurs. If it is 1 dB, I will set volume to 97% using Shortcuts. If .5, same but to 94% (resulting in 3 db reduction to improve headroom either way).

Mac mini, macOS 15.5
