Gmail email on iPad Keyboard BLOCKS what I am typing

iPads are supposed to be great… I am not in love

when I am using the google version of gmail… when I am typing the keyboard obscures 1/2 of all of the display… which results in the bottom portion of the email that I am typing being covered BY the keyboard… if I try to “slide the text” towards the top of the screen so that I can see the “bottom of what I am writing”…. As soon as I start typing the keyboard cover the bottom half and the text “ re-scrolls” it self…SO I CANT SEE WHAT IM WRITIN… SOMEBODY SUGGESTED RESTARTING IPAD…..

NO

THIS…text entry works fine as the text I am writing automatically scrolls “up and out of the way”….

the Google based version of gmail…does not…

Thanks for the additional info!

Have you tried using a different browser -- Firefox, Chrome, or Edge -- to see if they work better? Chrome is Google's own.

I gather you don't want to use an iOS email app like Apple's Mail or Google's Gmail?

It's definitely Google's job to make sure its webmail service is coded to work right on various devices and browsers. Apple can't do anything about that.
