Mac OS Monterey on iMac- After starting up from sleep my firefox browser and mail don't work for about 3 minutes. Very frustrating to have to wait EVERY time. I've done the usual...restart, browser update etc.. Monterey is 12.7.6.

Many users have issues using sleep. Do not use. Just have display turn off after a set time. I also have a 27" iMac and that is what I use.
Thanks but it's never been a problem in the past many years, so why does it start now?
If no issue until recently then perhaps you have another issue. Are you running the latest version of Firefox?
Does rebooting the router and the Mac and maybe also resetting the Mac's Wi-Fi settings help?

Latest version of firefox as I mentioned in original question.
UNfortunately none of the above worked, including not using sleep and substituting display off after set time.
