How can I stop email ap from combining (threading)? I find nothing to choose mail options on my Mac. Using Sequoia 15.5. And will this stop threads on my iPad also?

The View menu in Mail on Mac should have an option to “Organize by Conversation”. Uncheck that to get individual messages. There are also options to Expand or Collapse conversations.
On iPad, this is managed in Settings﹥Mail﹥[Threading] …
I find no such option. The only options are Show Mail Categories or Show Contact Photo.
