Can I batch multiple PDF's to import them to Notes to get individual notes for each PDF?

I have a project that has become hundreds of pdf's. Can I batch multiple pdf's to import them to Notes to get individual notes for each pdf? My main files are on my mac.

While I was working on learning how to do this in Shortcuts, I decided to try to import a batch of pdf's and then somehow break them into individual notes with one pdf each. So instead of dragging a group of files and dropping them on Notes, I grabbed a group and did an "open with." Notes was not in the core group, but when I scrolled down, it was an available app. When I selected Notes and hit OPEN, it created individual notes with the correct title. This was exactly what I was trying to create. No coding! Thank you for your thoughts and support. I don't know if I would have gotten to this without you jogging my thought process.

In the Script Editor app (Utilities folder), enter the following code:

on open pdfs
    repeat with pdf in pdfs
        tell application “Notes”
            activate
make new note with data pdf
            save the front document
        end
    end
end

Save this file as an “Application” or “Applet” and drag all your PDFs onto it.

If there are any errors, please reply with a screenshot of the error.

All other users: Feel free to improve upon my code, particularly the part saving the PDF.

In hindsight, AppleScript probably wasn’t the right way to go. So here’s a simpler method: the Shortcuts app.

Here is what you need in the shortcut:

  1. Shortcut input for files
  2. repeat block using shortcut input, contains all other actions
  3. Check out the Notes commands in Shortcuts to create the blocks creating the note and importing the PDF.

If at any point you’re stuck, consult the Shortcuts User Guide.
