My Apple Watch Series 3 won't pair with iPhone 16e

I recently purchased an iPhone 16e. Previously I had XR. However I am now facing a problem with my Apple Watch Series 3. I need to track my pulse so I went to pair my watch to my phone but the phone says it needs series 4 or greater. I just dished out a ton of money for this phone. Is there really no way to pair my watch to it? My watch still works great and I have only had it a couple years. I have taken great care of it. Please let me know if there is a way around this. I shouldn’t have to buy a new one.

I set up the new phone directly from old phone over WiFi before clearing out the old phone and sending it to Apple. When I turn on the watch my phone says my watch can see messages, but none of my health data is saving in the app. When I go to the watch app on iphone it shows I have no connected devices. When I go to set up a new device it can’t find my old watch. In the fine print it says I will need an Apple Watch 4th Gen or newer. I just wasn’t sure if there is a way around this. I don’t need the watch app. I just need a way to synch my health data to the health app.
