Why is my MacBook Air's microphone not working during FaceTime calls?

It dosnt work I can hear them but they cant hear me

Microphone not working on Facetime So I have a Mac Mini with M2 Pro with Mac OS 15 (Sequoia) and an external Dell Monitor C2722DE with in build webcam, microphone and speakers. I can do video calls with Signal app without problems. However when I try to do a video call using Facetime the other side cannot hear me. So it cannot be a problem with my hardware or drivers, it must be a problem specific to Facetime. It seems like the microphone is switched off for Facetime. Does anyone have an idea what could be the issue here?
