How do I manage Family Sharing on my child's iPhone?

My ex-wife has screen time and app purchases through family share on my daughter’s IPhone. I have all legal rights and full custody - how can I remove my ex from my daughters phone?

To do this with the child's account intact it has to be a transfer to a Family Sharing group managed by you. See the article Move a child to another group using Family Sharing - Apple Support

You cannot unilaterally remove the child from another Family Sharing group. If the ex is not willing to cooperate you will have to delete the child's account (losing everything associated with it) and set up a new account linked to your Family Sharing group. This can also raise complications with removing the iPhone associated with the old Apple Account and you'd likely have to use https://al-support.apple.com/#/additional-support Basically, it will be a LOT easier if the two of you can cooperate in doing this.

Incidentally, a person cannot be in two Family Sharing groups at the same time so you will have to settle in whose group the child will be.

One way to delete the account would be to log into the unwanted "child" account and request deletion. You should have the ID and password from when you first set up the account, or can recover the password according to information provided in the referenced links below:

Document: Create an Apple ID for your child - Create an Apple Account for your child - Apple Support

- The section: Reset a child's Apple ID password

- If you need to see the options you have for managing your child's account, you can sign in with their Apple ID and password at https://privacy.apple.com/account."

Document: How to delete your Apple ID account - How to delete your Apple Account - Apple Support

- Can I delete my child’s account?

"Your child can also request deletion of their Apple ID, which requires your approval."

You could also contact Apple about this request: Click here --> Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support Select your country, then a product and work your way down the menu to the desired issue. If you don't see one then try a different product until you reach a telephone or chat help request and ask to be redirected.
