iOS 26 not showing up in software update on iPhone

It's in beta and not yet intended for the general public. Wait until the official release.

So far there is only a beta version for Developers. The public beta will be released next month and the final version will be sometime this fall. The beta versions are only for testing and you would NEVER want to install it on a daily device. Removing the beta would require a computer and your device will be wiped of all data.

That's right. iOS 26 is in Developer Beta Testing and it won't be released officially until the fall. Do yourself a HUGE favor and wait until it is released to the general public.

Also do yourself a HUGE favor and pay close attention to Apple's very strong recommendation to never install beta software on your current phone. Install beta on a spare phone that you don't need to be reliable.

Note the words "Preview" and "Coming this fall."

Then I remembered that iOS 26 is never coming to the iPhone XR, XS, and XS Max. For those three iPhone models, we know that iOS 18 is the end of the line.

Don't attempt to install beta that's for testing purpose.
