How do I fix distorted email graphics in Apple Mail?

Some emails look really odd in Apple Mail. Graphics at the bottom with someone's sign-off go mad. The email looked at in Outlook is normal. What appears on the screen in Mail is very different. Please see the attached images. The Mail one has been significantly reduced to try and get it onto one page to screenshot. The other one is Outlook.

What is the reason fro this and how do I correct it?
