How to resolve persistent 'Required Managed Update' notification on MacBook Pro 2017 with latest OS?

I have a (now fairly old) MBP 2017 with Touch Bar running the latest OS that it can. Software Update section says my machine's up to date. But I continue to get this notification.

I tend to think it's a bug as I've read other threads that are now closed that suggest leaving the computer plugged in and connected overnight to allow the update to happen, but then the message pops up again a few days later. I've posted a link to a closed thread I already followed.

Does anyone have any ideas how to stop this or force this "update" although I tend to think this is some sort of bug that just hasn't been fixed?

...and are you showing any [Managed] Profiles using the instructions in the response you linked to?

a personal Mac should have none, except perhaps ScreenTime.
