How to fix 'The installer information on the recovery server is damaged' error and missing Macintosh HD after resetting a 2017 iMac?
Hi
My Dad has a 2017 iMac which was on Ventura iOS.
My Dad wants my niece to have it as he has bought new.
To reset it, i had to use disc Utility to erase and rebuild the Macintosh HD, it did this with no issues.
On rebooting it opened in recovery Mode.
I selected Reinstall MacOS, Install macOS Sierra came up. I clicked continue. A pop up stating 'To download and restore macOS, your computers eligbility will be verified with apple.
I clicked continue - An error message shows stating The installer information on the recovery server is damaged.
I return to the Recovery Mode options list. When i select Disk Utility, Macintosh HD does not show.
It shows 3x Internal
- AppleAPFS Media (3.12TB showing as unutilized)
- Apple HDD ST3000DM001 Media (3TB showing as unformatted)
- Apple SSD SM0128L Media (121.33GB showing as unformated)
It also shows Disk Images:
- Apple DIsc Image Media with a sub disc called CS X Base System (1.29GB with 724.3 MB free)
I have completed first aid on all - All are clear.
What can i do from here?
Thanks in advance
