Mail only notifies when on charge.

Hi, I’m having a problem with Apple Mail.

I added my Gmail account to Mail, but after that, I didn’t receive any notifications. Everything was set up correctly. I chose to fetch new data every 15 minutes, but it only sends notifications when the phone is charging.

The “Automatically” option said it would update when on Wi-Fi and charging, so I thought the other options would behave differently, but it turns out they all work the same way.

It wasn’t like that before. Yes, I experienced some delays a few months ago, but the notifications still popped up even when I wasn’t in the app (and without needing to be on charge, of course). They were delayed, but it was manageable.

This time, though, it required the device to be charging and connected to Wi-Fi. I tried re-logging, but nothing changed. It was really confusing.

Yeah they changed something but either don’t know what they changed or aren’t telling anyone. My mail behaves differently now. I used to get notifications on my phone and Apple Watch when I got mail. Now it won’t send anything until I charge my phone or I physically open my mail and refresh it. I plug it up at night and get like 30 loud notifications that I can’t seem to turn off. And all through the night I’m getting notifications from spam. Even though sound notifications is off for mail. No idea. 🤷
