What happens to apps and music bought with an old email address?

I am losing access to an email address and until recently it was my primary email address. I have changed to another email address as my primary. I noticed tonight when I downloaded an app, it showed the old email address. I have a number of apps and music that I have downloaded/purchased with the old email address. How do I move those to the new email address?

This is how you change your primary email address to another one. All apps and music are then transferred to this email address. When transferring your primary email address, your new email account cannot be one that was used for an Apple Account.

You will not be able to transfer apps/music to any other email address unless you use this method to change your primary email address.

When you go to Settings > [name on top] > Media & Purchases, is there a different email address listed there. This is the Apple Account used for purchases and what is used to link the app to the Apple Account. There was a time when this was common practice to use a different Apple Account for purchases to share content, but the need for that has been replaced by using Family Sharing. Under certain circumstances it is possible to migrate the apps/media that was made with the Apple Account seen in Media & Purchases to your Primary Account.

I had done that a couple of weeks ago. My primary email is a gmail account and the slider for that email is slid to green to be primary. Under my name in the Apple Account information it has another email address that is an iCloud email. Both the gmail and iCloud email have the same thing before the @ symbol. I have verified that the iCloud is not the primary email. I could use the gmail account to log into my account in iTunes, but when I check the info on a purchased song it is showing the old email that I am going to lose (neither gmail or icloud). I just want to make sure I don't lose access to music I have purchased when I no longer can access the original email.

That shows the correct email address. I'll check the link you sent. Not sure that's what I need since I never had two Apple Accounts, just one account with different users/emails. Some of my purchases go back to 2010, 2011 to an Apple ID that wasn't an email address. Those songs still work, so maybe not a problem going with the old email address. Thanks for your help.
