Why does my MacBook Air M4 13-inch lid open slightly when held vertically?

So when I am holding my macbook air 13 inch m4 vertically, the lid is little open, I can see a visible gap in the lid section, compared to when I am keeping it on a table horizontally, it is normal. Is this is occurring with anybody else?

Thanks Brody for your response. Silly me!! today morning I came to know this issue was related to my magnetic anti-peeping screen protector. Out of curiosity, when I removed my magnetic screen protector and held it vertically while the lid is closed, there was no gap in between, it was just like in the horizontal position. But thank you so much for your input.

That's actually normal. It gives you a sense of the give on the hinge itself. It isn't so tight that it would jam into itself if something gentle hit it, but it isn't so light that it would swing open and cause the cables to fray. When you push back the display and meet resistence while it is open, that's to prevent from fraying the cables that are in the hinge to manage the WiFi and Bluetooth antenna and video cables. If the bottom of it becomes inflated in the body, shut it down and bring it in for service. An M4 shouldn't have that issue now, but in the future it might if the chemicals in the battery go off and the battery needs to be replaced.
