.trashes folder on external hard drive not showing up for sync issue , even in hidden mode!

I am trying to do my usual SNYC FOLDERS PRO sync, which I haven't done since last August, as I keep the external drive at another location for safety.

Usually I just click the tasks to sync and off it goes, but this time it just doesn't want to - it comes up with :

opendir "/Volumes/ External Drive/.Trashes" failed

So I showed hidden files and .Trashes isn't there as hidden file even.

When I try and create new folder ".Trashes" it says it is already created and need to rename new folder!

So it is there, but isn't and I think that SNyc folders pro is failing because it has this problem seeing it too.... But I have checked all permissions and turned off VPN/ firewall and still same problem!

Anyone have any ideas?

Do I need to make that file seen for Sync Pro, or is there something I can do in sync pro, so I don't need to worry about the .Trashes file anymore?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks for reading.

Just an update and found the problem, just in case it helps anyone else.....

All these system files should be in the "exclusion List" on Sync Folders Pro. For some reason my exclusions were not all in place as they have been for years, so I created a new task, deleting the old sync task and when you assign the external drive, it tells you that these files including the .Trashes file are added comprehensively to the exclusion list and all works again, so they are not looked at by the syncing, thus not stopping with the error { opendir "/Volumes/ External Drive/.Trashes" failed}!

Maybe that will helps others a bit stuck like me?
