2015 Macbook Pro can't see internal SSD

I have a 2015 Macbook pro retina which has stopped seeing it's internal SSD. I have been able to recover and install a version of Yosamite to a USB and it all works fine but nothing will see a drive on the internal socket. I've tried two new drives as disk utility sees nothing. Connect the same drives via USB adapter and they are seen. Any ideas?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.7

So you do not see the physical internal SSD on the left pane of Disk Utility?

Is this an original Apple OEM SSD that shipped with this laptop from the factory?

What are the make & model of these new drives? If they are third party SSDs, then you will only be able to see them while booted into macOS 10.13+. Also, this laptop must have had macOS 10.13+ installed on it at some point in the past so laptop's system firmware is able to work with NVMe based internal SSDs.

The most compatible & reliable SSD adapter is from Sintech. I would not trust any other SSD adapter from my years of reading this forum. And not all SSDs are compatible with all devices.

Even if these new SSDs are Apple OEM SSDs, some of them may not work at all when installed internally (personal experience).
